I smash the heck right out of them.
Or rather, I smash the cloves right out of them.
Also, I carve roast beef.
Who knew?
Monday night at work was full of new experiences for me.
Usually when I work, Juliana is the cook. I think I’ve mentioned her before. (I just checked. I have at least once.) She’s fun, and funny. She told me to throw myself out the window the other day.
But Monday, Lidia was cooking. Lidia has a reputation for being the “not so nice” cook. The trick is, she expects more out of you as a student worker. As long as you can understand her, it’s fine, but if you lose her for a second…her “non capisco” tolerance is relatively extremely low. Work is much more hands-on, which is a great experience for everything except the garlic. (I still reek, so to speak.)
That’s basically it, if you ignore the four person chat-for-all that occurred this morning at 3amish (Italy time). I introduced Jessica to my family (including Ben, of course) over AIM. How very ridiculous, but you do what you gotta. It seemed to go relatively well. (Get it? Relative-ly?)
Next up, a Tuesdayful of classes, complete with Italian quiz. Wednesday we don’t go anywhere (slated to be a studio workday), which gives us time to pin down our eco-agri-terra-spheri-domes for studio and write up our 15 minute “solo italiano” script for Thursday.
On Thursday, we’re cheesin’ it to Milan to catch the design fair. It’s kind of a big deal, we hear.
Follow that up with a weekend of studio and such, and voila! Another week down.
Nearly all wrapped up.
Till next time,
Charles
Hi, Charles! Nice to “meet” you. I’m Jessica’s 2nd Mama and have been secretly enjoying your blog. Sooo everybody is making a big deal about Amarillo. I’ve never been there, so I won’t ask about any church locations, etc. However, let’s talk about cats… Keep blogging & say “hi” to my kid for me! Mama Sue
Well hello there, Mom-2. Nice to pseudomeet you too.
Secretly enjoying my blog seems to be the way to do it, hahaha.
(There’s not really a good reason to make a big deal about Amarillo. It’s quite…there.)
I certainly will tell Jessica hi. Well, maybe. I mean, it’s not like I see her at all…but I’ll make an effort and do what I can. No promises. But it’s guaranteed. Ish.
Well, I’m glad you’ve met Mama Sue because she’s kind of the “cool” mom and I’m well, just mom! I’m curious to know more details about the introduction of my baby girl to your family. They just need a face to face, and they’ll fall instantly in love!
The other Mom
Don’t I know it, hahaha. (That’s a comment about the family meeting, not the “cool”ness.)
