Ever need to put a link in your update, and for whatever reason the auto-url-compress doesn’t work?

Well, I have inadvertently hunched upon the answer. (more on that later)

Is good. Free and well-reviewed, is.gd will happily free up those extra characters for you. Sometimes you need as much of the 140 as you can get, I know. Also good for those extra long search links that break themselves up awkwardly.

So compress and twit away!

hunch wants to help you make decisions. You know there’s plenty of info on the internet, and you could go research it yourself, maybe. But wouldn’t it be cool if something could narrow down your decision?

Cue hunch.

It’ll ask you at least 20 questions right off the bat to get to know your personality and whatnot. (country/city/suburb?, what style french fries? spoon or be spooned?) then, it’ll give you the top five theoretical matches to your question.

So, whether you’re car shopping or wondering which web address compression service to use, hunch will help you out.

and the recent blitz of multi-site advertising.

In an effort to maximize the selling potential of my first book [collected] 2005-2007, I have set up an account on basically every social networking-esque site I could think of. You name it, I’m there. I have a facebook page, a LiveJournal, even a Twitter for goodness sake. (I’m not on blogger or myspace, but I personally can’t stand them. Or Xanga. *shudder*)

I was going to spread around my wordpress blog as well (some of you reading this may have clicked a link I put up hastily, but no harm no foul ) and then decided that this should be a more personal space. And, considering that Jess and I are basically the only people I know who use WordPress, I figure it’s best kept personal.

I’ve already sold a copy of the book, which is quite exciting. Someone already bet on me. Sweet. Also, I get money from it. Double sweet. Maybe they’ll pass it around and other people will want it. Triple sweet.

I would have never guessed I’d pull something like this. I was quite content with poetry for no one. But I suppose getting paid, even a litte, for something you love to do is pretty scnazzy. Knowing someone likes what you do enough to financially support you is a major confidence boost. And I thought I was just over-ramble-y.

Speaking of “financial support”, I really need to write thank-yous for graduation. I’ve kept a list of the people to thank, it’s just a matter of time. Silly time.

Don’t want to come off as ungrateful. I am endlessly so.

Anywho, we’ll see how the whole thing goes. My plans are to prepare the second [collected] pretty soon (probably 2008 by itself…it was a big year), and possibly little paperbacks of my favorites/certain series of poems. Also, the big deal Collector’s Edition with custom cover designed by me and author’s commentary on each poem. Now I just need to get famous…
